March 3, 2015 The voices of fisherman headed to the lake blend with the cheery chirping of the colorful birds. Geese sing and a light trickle of raindrops hit the tin roof.
March 9, 2015 So as my two month anniversary of moving to Tanzania rolls around, I wanted to reflect on some of the highlights. Of course every moment since I began working at JBFC has been a thrill, but some projects stand out a bit more and feel worth writing home about.
January 8th, 2015 The jolt of the plane’s wheels connecting with the pavement of Dar es Salaam woke me, and with a smile plastered to my face, I soaked in the horizon and the moment.
May 8, 2014 Since living in Cusco, I learned a lot about myself, Peruvian culture, and life as an expat. The most important skill I think I’ve acquired on my travels, is the ability to adapt to new situations and environments.
So another few weeks have passed, and in an effort to remember and appreciate everything I do in Cusco, I figured it was time to write another post summing up the daily going-ons of my life here.
So the last few weeks have been eventful for both me and Peru. First there was la huelga (the strike), I ventured to Urubamba for Carnaval, and I started teaching.
I truly did not know what to expect when I began my 20 hour journey to Cusco, but those are always my favorite adventures.
