If you aren’t familiar with my blog or me… Hey! I’m Anna, a nomadic storyteller who traveled the world volunteering and working for international nonprofits, before moving into a van. Spin the Globe Project is where I share ethical adventure travel and lifestyle tips, resources, stories, videos, and more.

Why I Need Support:

Before I was a nomadic storyteller, I lived in Manhattan. Where my monthly expenses were $1000 for rent, $150 for utilities, $500 for groceries, and $116 for a metro pass (Totalling $1,766). I was living paycheck to paycheck and I had an insuppressible desire to pursue my passions, live more simply, and inspire others to do the same.

So I gave up my apartment, donated my clothes, sold my valuable possessions, and moved in with my mom for a few months while I converted a van into an off-grid home and hit the road while sharing my journey with you.

Living on the road is much cheaper than most lifestyles I’ve tried on, but it’s not quite free. I’ve minimized my budget to allow for food, gas, a cell phone, and website related expenses. Making my total monthly expenses $347.

I make some passive income through affiliate marketing with brands like REI, Amazon, Lonely Planet, Hostelworld, Skyscanner, and other companies that I use regularly and can vouch for. I also do Freelance Writing and Website Design. If you’re interested in working with me in that capacity, please feel free to email me at anna@spintheglobeproject.com. Beyond that, I live off of savings, which is dwindling slowly.

Furthermore, it takes a lot of time to create each video I make- time spent setting up, filming, and editing. Each picture you see on my Instagram took anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour to set up and edit. Not to mention my blog posts (especially my tips oriented posts) take hours to write, edit, select and input photos and fact check before I publish them on the website. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing all this and I’m not complaining. But it helps to have financial stability for peace of mind before I go to bed each night.

Just as you would pay for a guidebook or a monthly subscription to a travel magazine, my content is a product that I work hard to produce with my viewers in mind. Therefore, I am graciously requesting support from those who enjoy my content on the blog, my Instagram, and my YouTube Channel.
